Our People

For more than 90 years, St. Joseph’s Health Centre has been providing care that reflects our Mission, founded in the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Our diverse team of health care professionals is committed to providing our community with the highest quality of patient, family, and community-focused health care services.

We are an organization of over 2500 employees and 400 physicians. This team includes physiotherapists, porters, lab technicians, doctors, nurses and medical transcribers – just to name a few of our many roles. We have students, residents, and behind-the-scenes support services working alongside frontline clinicians – and more than 200 volunteers in departments throughout the Health Centre greeting patients and families and helping them find their way.

In March, the Legend Awards capped off an exciting year, and the five 2014 winners included staff members from our mental health programs, cafeteria, bed control office, Family Birthing Centre, and surgery program. The diverse group of winners is just one example of how our values of human dignity, responsibility, compassion and community of service are being lived out every day across the entire Health Centre.

Together, these people make St. Joe’s a wonderful place to work, and the best place to get quality patient care. It’s more than just a job for the people of St. Joe’s – it’s also our passion and our mission.
